BRG is so different from other popular networking groups. The focus is on educating and learning how to become a better networker and business person. This in itself leads to more sustainable referral partnerships. I refer business to group members because I truly appreciate the uniqueness of their product or service. This is different from feeling compelled to because they are the represented profession at that chapter.

BRG is like teaching a man how to catch fish rather than constantly giving him fish. The topics of discussion at the meeting are always relevant and every meeting is an opportunity to consult with a board of business advisors, each with their own wealth of experience and knowledge.

Good point. Sports drinks of course have more calories than water alone. I use sports drinks when it is really hot and/or my workouts are longer than 45minutes. That way I know that I have already burned off the calories from the drink.

For weight loss, it is best to look at your calorie consumption over the course of the whole day and factor in the calories you burn during your workout . It is surprising; depending on the intensity, one 45 minute exercise session will burn several hundred calories, especially when its hot and humid.

If you total daily calorie intake is 10% to 15% less than your daily calorie expenditure then your body will use its fat stores as energy. Yay!

Watch out though - any more than that and your body will enter a starvation mode and become catabolic - that means it will store the calories as fat and break down muscle tissue to use as energy. Since muscle weighs more than fat, this has the effect of making you lose weight but gain fat. Boo!

Are these sports drinks high in calories and not good for losing weight? Do you suggest only to use in moderation with generous amounts of exercise?

I totally agree, I use BRG as a motivator to keep me moving forward in my business. The interaction with like minded people is a great sounding board for ideas and questions regarding my business. A good way to promote yourself is to get out and meet new people and other businesses, when I spend more time doing this my business increases dramatically coupled with the fact I feel like I have been out to see the world and not just looked at a computer screen all day. Our network group is a very important part of my business life and friends for life have been formed along the way.

All our clients pay by credit or debit card. I pay a small amount each month for our merchant facility but I do not pass the costs on as it saves me a great deal of time. I think it is worth it. However, if a card is declined or refused we get charged a fee by our merchant provider as well as the small administrative burden to re-process the transaction. We make a $5 surcharge for refused card payments and no one has objected so far. I think this is reasonable.

Garry,

My phrase would be "I've got to do my tax return".

By the way who are all these people? I didn't know BRG was so popular.

Slightly off topic, but still on the subject of referrals: what is a key sentence or phrase that would automatically trigger a referral for your business? For example, if you ever hear someone say the words "I don't like gyms" then it would be really cool if that triggers you to think of referring that person to Step into Life Manly because we offer a legitimate, healthy alternative to working out in a gym.

Every day there are opportunities to make referrals and sometimes we just miss them because we didn't react quickly enough. By planting little memory hooks in the form of short sentences into our subconscious it could automitically trigger more referrals.

This is a great topic. I think it's important to know what we expect from each other when we provide a referal, and also important to communicate to the potential customer what they should expect from the referee.

If you are running Windows 7 it automatically defrags and compacts your hard disk on a regular basis.
Before running a disk checker make sure you have a backup.
If fact before running any intensive scan make sure everything is backed up.
Sometimes repairing errors takes its toll on the hard disk and file system.
It can do more harm thatn good though this is more the execption thatn the rule these days.

A great way to keep motivated is to always incorporate some "Lets have fun" time every week. This can be as little as an hour & can be anything you like. It is amazing how much enthusiam you regain from taking time out. Suddenly you have the energy to do the filing, ring that debtor & empty your too hard basket!
